We have received several really good images of the recent passage of Venus past Messier 45 - the Pleiades. It was difficult to choose a candidate, but this image, by BAA member Ian Sharp, shows some of the famous nebulosity in which the stars of M45 are currently embedded. The imae was taken on 4th April, 2012at20:10 UT using aPentax 75 SDHF APO telescope and anATIK 383L CCD camera fitted with aType II Luminance filter. 20 x 20 second exposures, with the camera binned 2x2 werestacked to produce the final image.
