Report on elongations of Venus 2007-’17 published

The Section now has now brought its published record of Venus observations almost up to date with a major paper by Richard McKim, Paul Abel and Bill Leatherbarrow covering 14 successive morning and evening elongations.

The work of 153 observers is analysed covering the time period of ESA’s Venus Express and Japan’s Akatsuki missions, and wavelengths from 335–1750nm.

The paper is being published in two parts, in the 2019 April and June issues of the BAA Journal.

Part 1, covering the sunlit hemisphere, is available as a PDF here.
