Our star has been creating wonderful aurorae recently and this nice image was taken by Mick Nicholls in Sheffield on the 3rd March 2014 at 09.16amGMT. The image was taken using a 40mm double stack pst h-alpha telescope and a DMK21 camera. The settings on the camera were 1/30 second exposure, gain 260 and gamma 60% percent. The frame rate was set to 30 frames a second. The image is a 12 pane mosaic and each pane has 500 frames in it. The image was processed with registax 5.0, photoshop CS2 and the mosaic built up with autostitch. The mount used was a goto HEQ5 Pro mount.
