    Hi everyone,

im Cameron, im 16 and from Coventry, England. The skies here are terrible due to vast amount of Light Pollution. I love daytime photography so last July i thought i’d take the plunge and buy a GOTO mount, then came the ED80, then a finderguider and this month a Canon modded 1000D. It’s really amazing what difference a modded DSLR makes when imaging.

Anyway, this is my first image on the BAA altogether. The focusser was a bit sloppy the other night so stars in the bottom half and on the right hand side have “sagged” a bit, i think thats the word for it 😛

M27 from 25/05/2014- 6x300sec, Skywatcher ED80, CG5 Guided with finderguider, Canon 1000D modded. Stacked in DSS and processed in PS CS3.

    Hope you guys like it!

    Hello Cameron,

That’s a really nice image of M27. Well done. It’s amazing what can be achieved in spite of light pollution – you should be very proud of your result. I do hope you will submit your image to the Deep Sky Section.

I trust there will be many more to come in the future.

    Congratulations and go well!

    Hi Cameron,

Excellent image.  Well done.  I’m just a few miles North of you in Birmingham, and know how difficult astronomy can be from our orange skies.  This is very good indeed!

    Keep up the good work.

    Hi Cameron,

Very nice image. I observe from a light polluted site too and it can be a challenge but modern imaging equipment can do a lot even from very bright sites. Feel free to post some more images on this forum when you’re ready and if you have any questions please ask.

    Nick.

    Hi Cameron,

that’s a really nice image. I do like dso’s in their stary context like this, and you have nicely managed to capture the ‘wings’ which are often missed. Nice structure too.

    Well done.

    Looking forward to seeing more.

    Clear skies, Callum
