Hello Roger/all,
I am pleased to hear that you will be covering the topic of ccd photometry and reporting the results
of your investigations to this group. I know that Nick James has also been working on the use of
FoCas with his own ccd cometary images and will no doubt be making a comment about his findings
after he returns from Australia. I remember Richard Miles also mentioned that the use of Kphot
looked an interesting avenue for us to travel down to reduce our ccd measurements. I received an
interesting email from Erik Bryssinck in Belgium about cometary ccd photometry, he uses both the
FoCas method for faint comets and the CARA method for active and brighter comets. I know that Roger
has also had correspondence about these matters with Erik who is a CARA mentor and has offered help
and advice. So I am pleased to see this subject back as a discussion on this list and hope that good
progress can be made.

Please note that this website is now located at

My plan is to write tutorials covering the topics mentioned in the presentation. Next
topic is CCD astrometry and photometry. By processing images using Astrometrica,
FoCAs and Kphot we might be able to generate both CCD (m2)and visually equivalent
(m1) magnitudes. Watch this space.
