[BAA Comets] C/2011 L4 (PanSTARRS) update

>From the southern hemisphere, the comet was a fine object, especially during the week or thereabouts before perihelion. And from here, there was the extra  bonus of Lemmon, which I found to be as spectacular in its own way. Both comets were easy naked-eye objects (including their tails) and both beautiful objects in binoculars. The (ion) tail of Lemmon did not fade as quickly with distance from the head as the (dust) tail of Panstarrs and swept across the binocular field like a distant searchlight beam. Great to have two fine comets in the same part of the sky at the same time!
