Thanks Jeremy.

An excellent paper with new data on 17P more than 7 years after its
outburst. Good to see good stuff keeps being published. Looks like CO and
methanol are two key components. As folk no doubt recall, debris was
ejected at an apparent velocity of 135 m/s, which by the time HST was used
to image the comet had moved out of its FOV. This paper reports the
composition of this evaporating debris being very rich in CO.

My other question is whether or not the instrument used would have also
detected CO2.
