There are two Comet Section meetings in 2015 that you might want to put 
in your diaries now:


Comet Section Meeting
=====================

Saturday 11th April. Afternoon
Venue: Sparsholt College

This takes place as part of the BAA Winchester Weekend but it is open to 
everyone. You don't need to be a resident at Winchester to come along. 
The speakers are:

Nick James - The Comet Section in the digital age
Damian Peach  - Comet imaging
Kevin Hill - Obtaining Visual Equivalent Magnitudes from CCD images
Richard Miles - Outbursting comets

It's worth noting that the main Winchester Alfred Curtis Lecture is 
comet-themed as well since Matt Taylor will be talking about the Rosetta 
mission.


Comets and Meteors Observers' Workshop
======================================

Saturday 26th September (All day)
Venue: Burlington House, London.

The objective of this meeting is to give hands-on tuition in various 
observing techniques. We hope to cover comet image processing and 
extraction of visual equivalent magnitudes amongst other things.

In addition to these two meetings Denis Buczynski will be giving this 
year's Alcock Lecture at the Wednesday May 27 Ordinary Meeting at 
Burlington House (http://britastro.org/meeting_render/5589). The topic 
will be "Discovering Comets and Novae, Then and Now".
