Postscript:-

Jean-Francois Soulier observed the comet faint on May 08.40 from Chile.

Has anyone imaged the comet between May 8.4 and May 9.6?
If so then we may be able to narrow down the exact time of this medium-size outburst.

Fingers crossed,
Richard Miles

Has any Australian or New Zealand observer imaged Comet 29P last night?

It is now shining at magnitude 14.6R having been detected on May 09.60 as a
  highly condensed stellar-looking pseudonucleus.
