Dear firends,
I like to share with you a short visual short on four
comets made by Claudio Prà. He observed during the night of Nov. 13 from
Passo Giau at 2,200 m (Dolomites) with a 20x90 binocular, from 20 UT to
4.30 UT. A small comet maraton.
Best regards
Giannantonio Milani

P/64 Swift-Gehrels
surprisingly very easy to observe, close to Beta
Andromedae. 5-6' diameter coma nearly uniform in aspect (D.C =2) but
very evident above the sky background. Close to m1 = 9

46/P Wirtanen

At a scarce elevation above the horizon in Fornax. Quite large, diffuse
and elusive coma confused with the sky background (D.C. = 2). But not
too difficult to observe because of the fairly good sky condition. No
false nucleus is visible. Approximate magnitude estimate, m1 around mag
7.
P/38 Stephan-Oterma
Small comet relatively condensed (D.C.=3)
within the rich starfields of Gemini. More easy to see then in previaus
days. m1 close to 9.

C/2018 V1 Machholz-Fujikawa-Iwamoto
Not high
above the horizon, close to Gamma Virginis. Small size and D.C =5,
fairly bright around m1 = 7. In the coma I can spot the false nucleus.
