[BAA Comets] [comets-ml] C/2016 R2 in outburst

 Michael,
Thank you for looking.  Sorry it was on a weekend!  My imaging last night (11th UT) didn't show either.  Sorry that it was a false alarm as far as a major outburst goes.
I am still convinced that there was a bump in brightness on the 8th and 9th, both in the computed magnitudes and how the images appeared (more condensed).  I wouldn't have posted anything if I didn't believe it was real and I had two nights.

Thank you for sharing.  I examined Zwicky Transient Facility data taken August 03.18 and August 10.16 UT.  Our quick look pipeline compares the morphology.  Two 20th mag stars are near the comet in the August 03 image.  Aside from the stars, the difference of the two images looks clean, i.e., the comet shape and brightness is the same.  Although I don't see an outburst, I can confirm that the comet is not in outburst on the 3rd and 10th.
