I've registered with COBS.si, partly because - in his Tale article - Peter said that he finds it very useful. I'm having some trouble with the Comet Observing Planner - I'm getting Python script error messages. And it says the sun is above the horizon at 2300? Whether UT or BST this is not right!<br>
<br>
Is there a little quirk that I don't know about? In what units should you enter the session time?<br>

I'm pleased someone has read my piece in the Comet's Tale!<br>
You have to log into the COBS before you can use the Comet Observing <br>
Planner, otherwise the site doesn't know where you are in the world.<br>
The session start units are YYYY/MM/DD hh:mm and the session length is in <br>
whole hours.<br>
It works OK for me unless I enter a start time of 00:00hrs to 00:59hrs then <br>
I get the Python script error message.<br>
Limiting mag and min altitude are in whole numbers. I don't use the min <br>
Solar and Lunar Elongation.<br>
Hope you get it working and find it useful.<br>

Thanks Peter, I've got it working. It can't cope with my latitude + being so close to the summer solstice. It does not find any span of true night - that seems to be the problem. If I plug in a date in mid July everything works :) Anyhow, I really like the output. I can sort by magnitude and then can glance across at host constellations! David<br>
