Steve Williams

I've  had a keen interest in astronomy since a primary school project at the age of ten.  I started to observe the sky with a Tasco 60mm telescope back in the early 1980's, with my current 'main telescope' being a 6-inch Celestron Refractor.  My main interests have always been the Moon, planets and meteor observing, however I am not adverse to deep sky objects either!

I am the current co-ordinator of the Nene Valley Astronomical Society (based in East Northants) as well as being a member of the Astronomy Section of the Northamptonshire Natural History Society.  I have also previously been the Chairman, Secretary and newsletter editor of Northants Amateur Astronomers (previously the Kettering and District Amateur Astronomers Society) as well as the Renewals Secretary of the Society for Popular Astronomy and Convention Organiser for the Federation of Astronomical Societies.

Local society membership: Nene Valley Astronomical Society & Northamptonshire Natural History Society Astronomy Section
